Kathie Olivias, “Haunted”
Halloween is fast-approaching. Get into the spirit at “Haunted,” an exhibition of paintings by Kathie Olivias. In her portrayal of children in a post-apocalyptic world, Olivias toes the line between cuteness and terror, with particular attention to the disconcerting effects of masquerade.
Be sure to explore AFA’s permanent collection, which has works by Tim Burton that would complement this show nicely.
