Sean Bluechel, Still Life Is No Life
This is the last week to catch Sean Bluechel's
Still Life Is No Life installation at the Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery. On display until April 6th, Bluechel's sculptures aim to capture the moment before a collapse, suspending the senses somewhere between beautiful fragility and crumbling chaos. Accompanying the objects are a series of web-sourced photographs depicting the crudity of "drunk fun," featuring disordered imagery closely resembling the arrangements of the sculptures. Together, the corresponding bodies of work challenge viewers to conceive the connections between opposites—small and large, physical and psychological, vulgar and profound.
Dates: Until April 6
Where: Nicole Klagsbrun Gallery, 532 West 24th Street
