Conrad Carlson, Boxcutters in Brown Town
Creative delinquent Conrad Carlson is an urban explorer extraordinaire, recovering ruined materials and turning trash into art-world treasure. Obsessed with their dirt and grime, the artist uses the remnants of old cardboard boxes as a canvas for his distinctly Americana collages. While Carlson's brand of symbolism has flourished everywhere from Portland, to Paris, to parties in abandoned buildings, this is his first solo exhibition in New York City.
