The New York City Ballet will be dancing in exquisite costumes this fall by Italian fashion designer Valentino Garavani. The mogul plans on creating original designs for three different ballets that will be performed at the annual Fall Gala at Lincoln Center on September 20.

Sarah Jessica Parker and Giancarlo Giammetti will co-chair the magical event and a performance of George Balanchine’s “Rubies” is scheduled in honor of Valentino's signature use of the color red in his designs throughout the years.

Valentino said in the New York Times that he was honored to have the New York City Ballet:

“...celebrate my work in this way, and I am very passionate about the design of these very special costumes."

New York ballet-goers are in for a very special season this fall with the passion of the company and the dancers. Valentino also mentioned in the NYT his love for the ballet:

“There is so much beauty in the ballet, the grace, the fluidity.”
