Billion Oyster Pavilion
When: Summer 2015
Where: Governor's Island
What: Figment NYC's City of Dreams Pavilion is the brain child of architectural firm BanG Studio. Built using recycled materials, including nylon rope, steel rebar, clamps, and custom cast-concrete blocks, this construction stands for an environmental cause. The same materials used can later be used to create oyster beds and to anchor new oyster reefs, highlighting the issues global warming has created for wildlife. Good art with a good cause.
