Before launching MIRTH, had you both been interested in fashion?
Katie McClure: I studied fashion in undergrad and interned with Marc Jacobs as a student. While I loved it, I took a different career path but always came back to the idea. Erin's background is in education and she had a clinic for kids with autism, but she always had a great sense of style and aesthetics. Our business model combines our backgrounds and skills, including giving back to child welfare programs.
