How do you marry the traditional with the modern when it comes to your designs?

Our design approach is quite instinctive - both of us have a traditional yet modern aesthetic so this comes naturally. We love a traditional caftan, but we wanted to create pieces with more tailoring and design details that bring them into a more everyday and every-woman closet. We also use a lot of traditional fabrics and techniques, like jamdani weaving and block printing, that make simple designs feel more modern. That said, we're wanting to go back to more traditional block prints for next year!
