Clearly, you both go off the beaten path. What are some of your travel tips when it comes to truly discovering a new place?

There are so many more travel resources online now that make the process of finding interesting spots easier. We often use Fathom, Cereal magazine, Melting Butter, and The Voyageur. We seek out vintage shopping and third wave coffee in new cities, which always leads to great neighborhoods. We also encourage taking a trip to a region, not necessarily a city. Too many people go to Europe and just hit two cities, but a great way to travel is to explore smaller towns and beautiful country landscapes. The best method is simply wandering - getting off the freeway and going with your gut. Talking to people. That's the best way to do it.
