The rise and fall of the world's youngest female billionaire has captivated the public for years. Elizabeth Holmes burst onto the tech scene seemingly out of nowhere, although, with her endless supply of black turtlenecks, she certainly looked the part of idiosyncratic genius. But when the shiny facade of her innovative blood-testing business, Theranos, started to show cracks, it all came crashing down. In addition to her bizarre fake voice, Holmes's whole company turned out to be a farce. She's since been indicted on nine counts of wire fraud and two counts of conspiracy to commit wire fraud for distributing blood tests with falsified results to consumers. A trial is set to begin in August 2020.
