What could be more iconically New York than bagels, you ask?
Why, pizza of course!
Beloved spot Black Seed Bagels is shaking up the city's saucy scene with their newest venture, Black Seed Pizza. Launched in collaboration with Chef Bobby Hellen, the pizza genius formerly behind the pies at GG's, they'll be serving up Sicilian-style pan pizzas baked in the wood-fired oven of their East Village bagel location (176 First Ave).
The opening menu features five pizzas, from your classic Cheese, Tomato and White styles, to a Green Pie (with marinated kale, pesto, fresh mozzarella, scamorza, grana padano, pecorino, garlic, artichoke & pickled pepper) and Bob's Pie (with sopressata, mozzarella blend, grana padano, pecorino, tomato sauce, red onion, castelvetrano olive, banana pepper, oregano & homemade chimichurri).
Of course, there's plenty of amazing toppings to add to each!
Oh, and worry not all you fickle foodies out there, gluten free squares and numb plant based cheese are also available.
Though really, if you're not going to dive headfirst into their Everything Spice Cheesy Bread, what's the point, you know?
Order in advance for pickup at 176 First Avenue or for delivery through their online ordering platform.
