-Linton Hopkins, another Culinary Institute grad and New York native, recently won the James Beard Award for Best Chef Southeast. -From soft grits to pickled peaches, Hopkins combines his culinary skills with a home grown cooking style. -He was an anthropologist before deciding to enroll in culinary school to become a chef. -In 2009, he was named Food & Wine's Best New Chef.
