What Inspired You To Start Baking? When Did Your Love Of Baking Begin?

There are so many reasons why I enjoy baking cakes. For starters, my mom always made my two younger brothers and I the BEST birthday cakes growing up. She was insistent that we would absolutely never have a store bought cake for our birthday, and she still feels that way even now that we are all adults. A few cakes that stand out in my mind that she made us are: a shopping mall cake (she literally made a whole mall...as a cake) for my 13th birthday, a monster truck cake for my brother's 5th birthday, and a beer shaped cake for my brother's 21st. So all of that to say - I feel as though cake making is in my blood.

It's also just a great hobby for me because it allows me to get creative with aesthetics. For instance, the other day my friend had a cute striped bucket hat on and I loved the color palette and then made it into a cake. I have such a sweet tooth also, so cake making is a win-win because I get to be creative while also satisfying my craving. The best part of it all is that I don't cook, at all. I do not touch the stove. It's just that...... sure, you can make a nice and tasty pasta...but can you make it pink with cherries and whip cream on top? Not really, and so therefore, I'm not going to put in the work (haha).
