Ladybird Bakery
Formerly Two Little Red Hens Bakery, this Park Slope bake shop changed its name after the two founding partners, Mary Louise Clemens and Christina Winkler, decided to split amicably.
But though the name has changed, Ladybird remains one of the best bakeries in New York, attracting customers from all boroughs for its famous Brooklyn Blackout cupcake, which is filled with chocolate pudding and topped with chocolate ice cake and crumbs. If that's a little rich for your taste, the Red Velvet and Carrot Cake cupcakes are also out of this world.
