While this little mom-and-pop shop is known for its dumplings, we think it's the hand-pulled noodles here that's worth making the trek all the way to Elmhurst in Queens. Having long been a neighborhood staple for the locals, Lao Bei Fang's noodles are hand made fresh every day by Chef Libin Zhang. A big bowl of the stringy, chewy strands are served in a flavorful beef broth with slabs of brisket meat and bok choy, and is a complete steal at only $5.50.
