'Tis the season for gift giving and getting, and art aficionado Patti Ruiz-Healy has all the best finds!
As Co-Owner of Ruiz-Healy Gallery, which focuses on contemporary art by Latinx, Latin American & Texas based artists, Patti's artful aesthetic is colorful and classic with an unexpected twist.
Curious what's on the stylish Texas native turned Upper East Side gallery girl's holiday wish list?
Us too!
How will you celebrate the holidays this season?
I was in my hometown of San Antonio, Texas, for Thanksgiving but will be in my adopted hometown of NYC for the rest of the holidays! We usually spend Christmas Eve at Sant Ambroeus and then Christmas Day at my parents home on the Upper East Side.
Are you a last-minute or way-in-advance shopper?
I would say that I am both! I try to buy gifts throughout the year but the holidays always creep up on you so I end up also doing some last minute panic buying.
Favorite spots to shop?
I am in love with a new online shopping destination, The Gloria, which offers an amazing selection of Latin American fashion and design all curated by Colombian bridal designer, Francesca Miranda who works alongside her two daughters.
One of my favorite things on the site right now is the Flor Chess Set and the Beso Cocktail Napkins. The cocktail napkins make a great hostess gift and I have to admit I hope someone will gift me the chess set!
What's on your list to give?
I live in the Hill House Ellie Nap Dresses and love how the bodysuit makes the dress year round. Everyone I have gifted this to ends up wearing it to death! You can also never go wrong with pajamas as a gift! Mestiza New York recently came out with some adorable and super soft pajamas, the Gigi Chinoiserie Pajama Set, the blue is striking and perfect for nights in during the holidays. Mestiza New York is also female founded and run!
I also love gifting items that you never think to buy for yourself, like a new set of towels. Recently I bought some towels by Havly. They are soft and absorbent, but what I really love is that they come with a hanging loop so you never have to deal with the towel falling off the hook problem.
What's on your list to get?
Art, Art, Art! I love gifting and receiving art.
I love the work of Carlos Rosales-Silva.
My gallery, Ruiz-Healy Art, recently exhibited the work of Rosales-Silva at the Dallas Art Fair and his work is now on view at Untitled Art Fair in Miami during Art Basel.
I particularly love his "Border Exchange Studies." The color, texture, and meaning is very impressive.
