Midday snacks
We're all familiar with the 3 pm slump that has you feeling tired, hungry, and craving something salty or sweet (for us, it's both). There are several healthy options to replace that sugary soda or bag of chips. An apple with almond butter provides both filling protein and a kick of flavor, and could be easily packed and transported (look for single serving packets of peanut butter or almond butter at Whole Foods and Trader Joe's). Or have a few handfuls of trail mix (without the milk chocolate chips and M&Ms). Make your own trail mix with raw almonds, cashews, raisins, and dark chocolate chips. Throw it in your lunch bag the night before so you aren't rushing in the morning.
