Sledding
This kid-friendly winter activity also provides an excellent workout in the cold months. Thanks to the hills you'll climb between rides, you'll burn 400 calories per hour. Find the hilliest part of your neighborhood park and get creative: use a trash can lid, flat cookie sheet, laundry basket or air mattress for a makeshift sled. If you're near Central Park, check out Pilgrim Hill (neat the 72nd St. and Fifth Avenue entrance) or Cedar Hill (near the 79th St. and Fifth Avenue entrance) for prime sledding spots.
