Why did you get involved?
I may be the only "gringa" on the Worldfund committee but on a trip to Peru, I was confronted with the reality of the South American educational system and knew that these children were deserving and capable of so much more. As Americans, we sometimes take our educational opportunities for granted, this was my way of paying it forward.
What did you want to be when you grew up?
a ballerina (age 5), bridal magazine editor (age 10), hotelier (age 16), travel channel or food network host (present)
Your role in planning the event?
I handled finding the venue, silent auction procurement, and the designated margarita taste tester
What you are most excited for this year?
The Bowery Hotel's indoor/outdoor space will allow us to increase our guest count and raise even more money for this amazing charity! And we have some incredible silent auction items headed your way--vacation homes from Mexico to Vermont, spinning packages, private Stadium rentals (Arthur Ashe, where the US Open tennis is played!), and great meals, too!
Who influences you?
Oprah Winfrey (I DVR ~70% of the programming on OWN), Marissa Mayer, Bethanny Frankel, Susan Feldman (co-founder of One Kings Lane)
