Happy Be

Happy Be, a new rooftop bar overlooking Tribeca, is already a cool kid favorite. The slightly hidden watering hole is entered through a side door of the Walker Hotel on Cortlandt Alley, tucked among the street's lineup of contemporary art galleries. Once you head up on the elevator, you'll find a lush, greenery-lined oasis filled with relaxed banquettes, wooden pergolas, artwork from local artists, and private nooks practically made for chance encounters. The haunt's laid-back charm combines the energy of New York street culture with the romance of an English garden, and it gets its name from a line in Shakespeare’s A Midsummer Night's Dream that refers to "a euphoric state of being." Sounds promising, no?
