The Venue

Let's start with the venue, which is somewhat of a legend in its own right. The Paramount Hotel's subterranean nightclub, Diamond Horseshoe, originally opened in 1938, hosting some of the greatest performers, vaudeville acts, and showgirls in the world. It was a den of delight for New York's most vibrant denizens for a decade before closing in 1951 and being left abandoned for over 60 years. That is, until its recent resurrection by hotel owner Aby Rosen. Six thousand square feet of gilded nostalgia greet guests in this glittering ballroom, complete with a stunning sunburst ceiling fixture, two stages, and a bubbling bar that could be straight from the lab of Dr. Frankenstein. And that's not to mention the dusty mirrors, fallen grand chandeliers, and exotic art that line the stairwells and corridors of this nocturnal playground. [Photo via @guestofaguest]
