Number 1 on the list of things we didn't know we needed but now we're thrilled about? A delicatessen serving up cocktails.
Because who doesn't want their bagel with a side of gin?
Today, iconic New York institution 2nd Ave Deli is debuting an upstairs watering hole aptly called 2nd Floor. Located above the Upper East Side staple, the cocktail bar will feature drinks such as the Man-O-Manischewitz (Dorothy Parker Gin, spiced Manischewitz and lemon), the Upper Eastsider (gin or vodka, house ginger beer, Dr. Brown’s Cel-Ray, cucumber and mint), and a selection of kosher wines and beer from Israel.
Of course, you can't have a deli bar without a selection of classic eats. Updated takes on traditional Jewish food will also be available, with Birch-Smoked Tongue Sliders, Gefilte Croquettes, and Pastrami Deviled Eggs all on the menu.
2nd Floor will be open from 5 pm everyday, so stop in to say "Mazel tov!"
