Don Hill's Now Putting Those Stripper Poles To Good Use

by Mara Siegler · March 7, 2011

Those who've visited Don Hill’s in the past month or so may have noticed something different about the bar: namely, there are women in their panties and bras dancing on it. We talk to Nur Khan about tattooed women, rock and roll stripping, and what to expect from this new addition.

While there are just two women shaking their groove thing along with other unmentionables at the moment, they will be adding more dancers to liven up Thursday's, Friday's and Saturdays. The space has always had poles and had live entertainment 15 or so years ago.

"The poles are there for a reason, and we had always planned on using them,"  Nur tells us. "That's the type of club it is: rock 'n' roll, dance, down 'n' dirty vibe. Everyone loves someone on a stripper pole, and they're interactive with my customers should they so desire to jump on a pole."

Hear that, ladies and gents? You don't have to be a professional to get in on the action.  They will even be adding another to the stage to give you (or Taylor Momsen next time she performs there) more ample opportunities to show off your exhibitionist side should you so choose. If you actually want a paycheck out of it, they are always holding auditions. The qualifications?

"Hot and rock 'n' roll sexy. Maybe a little sunset stripper vibe thrown in. We like tattoos!"

Could Westway, the much buzzed about "hipster stripper" joint from Matt Kliegman and Carlos Quirarte, have ignited a new trend when it comes to alt-strippers?
