Apotheke
Doyers Street in Chinatown was once a hiding place for gangsters who would lurk behind buildings - the curvature of the street allowed them to go unseen, the perfect cloak for attacks on rival gang members. Present day, it's host to Apotheke, a trendy speakeasy-style bar. Well, it's more like a lab, because the bartenders are chemists and they can whip up anything to take your cold/stress/pain away. Just tell them how you want to feel, and a few drinks in you'll be ready to run a marathon. The decor is spot on -- dim lighting, plush couches, round flask lights, and the 30 foot bar is designed to resemble a lab. Bonus: the bar holds hundreds of antique medicine bottles from around the world.
