We were invited to the Foxwoods Casino for the opening of the MGM Grand Hotel. Although we were dubious of a three hour car ride to Connecticut, the all expenses paid part was too good to pass up! We, along with our sidekick of the weekend, Grace Gomez Brea, were picked up by a luxury SUV Friday after work and off we went.
We arrived at the MGM and were escorted in their VIP reception area and sipped Veuve Clicquot champagne while being checked in. We were assigned our rooms, did a quick change and headed to the Shrine nightclub to meet our host, Matt Levine, owner of one of the hippest lines of clothing-Steelo.
We were thrilled that some of our friends from New York made the trip as well and were welcomed at the club by actress Sincerely Ward and her partner in crime, Bobby Jo Kitchen, Eli Mizrahi, fellow blogger Micah Jesse, Jason Preston, Shauna Racioppi and Philadelphia 76ers star, Herbert Hill.
Food and drinks came courtesy of Randy Greenstein, Principal of Shrine nightclub, Shana Barry (marketing) as well as Danielle McAuliffe (market manager of Remy Cointreau). We were a little shocked that clubs in Connecticut close by 2am, but our bodies were more than appreciative.
In the morning we had breakfast at Junior's, the same from Brooklyn, and wandered around the casino. We wanted to hang out at the pool, but the weather was not cooperating so we spent the day at the gym, the hot tub and the room ordering room service and watching on demand movies.
We made our way back to Shrine but this time had a sit down dinner and we were joined by the very energetic Lisa D'amato (former top model, schwayze posse member and the entertainment for the evening). Following a dinner that not only featured delicious food but table dancing, we headed downstairs to the club. Lisa wowed the crowd with her energy, her rapping, her krumping but most of all her bikini! Another great night was had by all.
