Been on the lookout for a new disco ball to dance under? We've got some good news for nightlife social butterflies.
Scott Gerber and his son, Owen Gerber, along with the iconic hospitality team at Gerber Group, have recently unveiled a new late-night haunt that already has all the cool kids flocking.
Enter Daphne, the subterranean hot spot hidden beneath Hotel 50 Bowery in Chinatown. Serving as the perfect after-hours complement to Gerber Group's rooftop cocktail lounge, The Crown, Daphne transports guests to "an underground time of disco and expression," practically begging you to let loose.
"There haven’t been many new club openings in New York City in the past two years, especially not something to the caliber of Daphne, and we are excited to help bring NYC nightlife back! When we were conceptualizing Daphne, we wanted to recreate the disco, vintage-feel that my father experienced in his 20s, for my generation," said Owen Gerber in a release. "Gerber Group prides itself on being known for running high-end bars and lounges, and Daphne is providing nothing short of that."
The 2,500-square-foot space is decked out in dreamy silk flower installations by Floratorium along with a dazzling slew of disco balls and a state-of-the-art lighting system. When you're not getting sweaty on the dance floor to the tunes of the nightly DJ, hit the illuminated bar for cocktails including espresso martinis (duh!), Casamigos margaritas, and the Gerber Group take on a Manhattan. There's also 20 VIP tables if you prefer to sit back with bottle service.
Daphne will be open Fridays and Saturdays from 10 pm to 4 am. See all you weekend warriors there!
