Aside from the standard-bearer watering holes around the city, an alternative is the roving party scene, where gatherings of all sizes are planned in advance at various locations. One of the leading ones this summer has been at Creator House, hosted by Terence Edgerson, a.k.a. NY Social Bee. On a rooftop in Flatiron, he and DJ Ty Sunderland (who also works with a number of other bars and venues), have been putting on weekly events with an exclusive list that is prepared well in advance.
“The biggest difference i've noticed is the appreciation,” he says. “I’ve never seen so many people value what we do and value party throwers. It's always been take it or leave it and losing that in COVID made people realize the value it has on their life and the dopamine effect of going out.”
