We take a look inside the Dream Downtown opening; a look at the Northside Festival, starting TONIGHT; a list of places to celebrate Bloomsday; a new nightlife endeavor from David Lynch, an underground lap dance club; an underground supper club and more! Today's nightlife roundup is spilling all its secrets!
1. Dream Downtown Opens![GofG] [GofG Photos]
Vikram Chatwal's latest venture, the Dream Downtown, opened it's doors last night. The three levels were packed with a smattering of celebs like Leonardo Dicaprio, Justin Bartha, and Amar'e Stoudemire; nightlife types like Richie Rich, Mia Moretti, and Wass Stevens; and your run of the mill scenesters who partook in the open bar, mingled amongst performers dressed in a variety of costumes, and checked out the PH-D Rooftop Lounge, Marble Lane restaurant, and The Beach.

2. The Northside Festival Starts Tonight! [Northside] [Image via]
L Magazine's annual Brooklyn musical festival starts tonight! Spread across more than 25 venues and with 270 bands-- both semi-known and totally obscure- it can be hard to decide what to see but is definitly worth checking out. NYMag has an OK, sort of thrown-together-see-Questlove-and-Surfer-Blood-style list of bands to catch and Bill Pearis is posting his well researched picks on Brooklyn Vegan on a daily basis. New York Press also has a good list. My three to see: Yacht, Diamond Rings, Radical Dads.
3. Underground Pop-Up Lap Dance Club [Observer] [Image via]
The Saint Venus Theater is a discreet pop-up, members only, underground lap dance club. Yes, really.
Prospective patrons, who must be over 25, are instructed to submit applications via email and to provide a few personal details “so we know you would fit in well with our events,” as the website advises. Those who make the cut are given an address at which the super-secret roving event is to take place. After paying a $40 entrance fee, customers can eat free chocolate, throw back shots of Patrón and, for $20 apiece, enjoy “the most erotic and physically transformative lap dance [they] are likely to have ever known.”
4. Uncovering an Underground Supper Club [GrubStreet]
Not as exciting as the above, especially not for Playboy. The lad mag has discovered NY Bite Club, a tiny space with Michelin-worthy cooking. Sounds good!
5. Happy Bloomsday! How To Celebrate [Gothamist]
Today is Bloomsday, the annual celebration of James Joyce's epic novel, Ulysses! Gothamist has a list of places where you can celebrate and most importantly drink.
6. Director David Lynch Is Getting Into Nightclub Business [HR]
Director David Lynch has teamed up with nightclub and record label owner Arnaud Frisch to open a real-life version of Club Silencio from his 2001 film Mulholland Drive in Paris' 2nd Arrondissement. The club will aim to create the environment of an artist salon and will be members only from 6 PM to midnight. After midnight, the space opens to the public. It should be open by September.
