I know what they mean because I constantly have guys doing the same thing to try to impress me so they can chill at our table. You're better off just letting your money talk for you. If you're dressed really nice and have your own table they'll probably do the math on their own. Name dropping is tacky; unnecessarily mentioning this celebrity or club owner you may know is so transparent. If it comes up organically in the conversation fine, but if you just start throwing names out there it comes off as trying to hard.
