If anyone could get the cool kids to Midtown, it's the scene makers behind the brand new Pebble Bar, a four-story watering hole taking over a historic townhouse at Rockefeller Center.

The buzzy spot, which officially opens this week, is the brainchild of hospitality dream team Matt Kliegman, Carlos Quirarte, Matthew Charles, Noah Bernamoff, and Julian Brizzi, who, between them, lay claim to It Destinations including Ray's in the Lower East Side, Bar Calico and Georgia Room at the Freehand, the Jane Hotel ballroom and rooftop, and Brooklyn favorites Grand Army and Celestine. They're joined by a roster of celebrity friends-turned-investors including Mark Ronson, Nicholas Braun, Justin Theroux, Jason Sudeikis, and Pete Davidson. Clearly, the A-list clientele is already built-in.

In the land of tourist traps and old school Irish pubs, Pebble Bar stands out as a haven for the Downtown chic set, offering a swanky atmosphere, upscale cocktails, and an impressive menu of seafood-centric bar bites and mains from Executive Chef (and Lobster Club alum) Carlos Barrera.

Not that this is the locale's first time as a hot spot. For over 100 years the townhouse was home to legendary drinking den Hurley's, which survived prohibition and, through the decades, was frequented by the writer Jack Kerouac along with NBC stars like David Letterman and Johnny Carson, who would use a secret entrance that connects to 30 Rock next door.

Revamped and revitalized for a new set of notable regulars, Pebble Bar's three floors boast plush banquettes, intimate corners, and glossy interiors inspired by its iconic Art Deco surroundings. On the fourth floor is Johnny's, a clubby private space accessible only via secret elevator.

From the crowd to the cocktails to, let's be honest, the seafood tower alone, it's totally worth the trek above 14th Street.
