We were too busy partying on a yacht to get over there, but we heard from some peeps that the S Magazine Spring Summer Issue No. 9 Launch Event last Wednesday was pretty off the chain. So we asked S Mag's PR dude to tell us went on:
The Danish-American semi-annual S Magazine celebrated its Spring-Summer Issue No.9 launch with guest curators MD70 at Griffin (formerly PM) in the Meatpacking district on Wednesday, June 3rd. The party drew a beautiful crowd of artists, photographers, models, designers, and other creative types who imbibed (our favorite) Tanteo Tequila (infused with chocolate and muddled strawberries) and Bavaria Beer.
Headlining DJs The HENRY and actor James "PJ" Ransone moved revelers to dance on the raised platforms throughout the night. There was also a titillating visual presentation of eroticism, fashion, and art from the pages of the magazine projected underneath the DJ booth.
Entitled “Chance”, it is the publication's largest issue to date, with over 430 pages -- and a size a matched by a standard-bearer roster of well-known contributors, such as photographers David Bellemere, Richard Bernadin, Lorenzo Bringheli, Doug Inglish, Julia Kennedy, Marcus Ohlsson, Hiromix, Bela Borsodi & Elle Muliarchyk, John Ross, Lina Scheynius, Todd Hido, and Michael Schmelling. A dedicated section of the issue is reserved for guest curators MD70, the New York-based advertising and brand agency. Their 100 pages is a sweeping orchestration of light, color, and gorgeousness -- with a touch of message, and a dab of abstraction. MD70 displays images by Magnus Magnusson, Nick D’Emilio, Martin Lidell, Martin Vallin, and Amelie Hegardt, among others.
S magazine is available on newsstands now.
