This club is for those who really want to up the ante on membership requirements. Not only do you have to be well-connected, affluent, and have two sponsors backing you, but you also have to know a thing or two about sailing. Not speaking French fluently is frowned upon and not being a fan of coats of arms is unacceptable. The
YCM was founded in 1953 by Prince Rainier and is steeped in tradition (the club's website lauds its commitment to "preserving a certain ethic, both on land and on the water, and to foster a respect for naval etiquette and preservation of the environment"). If you have exceptional sea legs and an unreasonable collection of navy blazers, this one's for you.
