Who isn't absolutely, completely, hopelessly desperate for an excuse to get dressed up these days?
As Founder of The Moonstoned - an annoyingly amazing antique and vintage jewelry shop that's timeless, dreamy, and will have you enthusiastically emptying your savings account - Elizabeth Potts has a personal collection of necklaces, rings, bracelets and more that are all just begging to be taken for a spin!
What are you wearing?
I'm wearing the Sahara Velvet Dress from Rat & Boa. Sometimes it feels appropriately silly to dress up in quarantine like I've got somewhere to go.
Where are you riding out the storm?
We are in Upstate New York! Feeling grateful for the wild woods during this time.
How would you describe your quarantine style?
For the first few weeks, we were still pretty lazy about your favorite lounge pants and an old, worn in t-shirt. Since we are here for the long haul and are working from home, it started to feel like I needed to take more control, starting with feeling good about myself and what I was wearing. I've been verrrrrrry into house robes lately, which is especially wonderful while breastfeeding. A long, flowy kimono linen robe from THE WYLDE with tousled hair or a silk FLEUR DU MAL and a red lip are two of my favorite looks currently.
What's been making you the happiest lately?
My daughter. Boy, did I hit the lottery with this sweet soul. She is nothing but sunshine.
Do you sport as much jewelry when just at home?
It really depends! I'm trying it on and taking it off all day to show in appointments, and somedays I feel like I just want to layer ALL UP. Other days, especially when it's crazy humid and hot out I don't want anything touching me, let alone jewelry. Ha!
What's your philosophy for accessorizing?
If it doesn't feel good, don't wear it. Our bodies are our altars and what we wear should reflect the celebration of this. If a simple chain and hoop earring make you feel like you're shining through, then wear that. If your bold gold links, rings, swinging earrings and layered necklaces make you feel loud and proud and heavenly then wear that.
What's one little luxury of normal life you miss the most?
I really miss walking down to Dudley's to meet my people for an afternoon glass of wine and bowl of fries.
What's the most fabulous thing you've done in quarantine?
Oh boy... Fabulous is a funny word to think about right now. When I think of fabulous, I think of a trip, or a fancy dinner out or a massage. But perhaps, the whole point is to find a fab state of mind, like reading a book in the bath by myself while the baby is napping. Bliss...
