Are Doctors The New Doormen? For High Profile Parties, They Are

by Stephanie Maida · May 7, 2021

Since the early days of the pandemic, medical concierges and pricey private practices have become something of a status symbol among the high society circles of just about any cosmopolitan city. And we're not talking house calls for Botox.

From jet-setters to well-to-do Hamptons hostesses, those in need of a last-minute (or, in the early days, hard-to-get) COVID test weren't about to wait in one of those dystopian lines at the CityMD. Now that the vaccines are rolling out and restrictions are lifting, things are a little less cutthroat than they were last year, but when it comes to parties, doctors just might become a permanent fixture at the door.

According to Sollis Health, a members-only medical center with locations in New York City, Beverly Hills, Miami and the Hamptons, high profile clients have been hiring out their services to ensure that their gatherings are safe and COVID-free.

If you thought getting past a bouncer was hard, try getting past these guys.

A favorite of the likes of Freida Pinto, Sienna Miller, Ben Stiller, Tommy Hilfiger, and Ralph Lauren, Sollis Health gives members the ability to station medical pros at their events for on-site rapid testing. Even if your name is on the list, you won't get in until that swab comes back negative in 11 to 30 minutes.

While that may mean forgoing your habit of arriving fashionably late to parties, you can at least appreciate the peace of mind that these safety measures provide. And hey, now you can flirt with a door guy your parents will actually approve of.
