This is one billionaire breakup we did not see coming!
After 27 years of marriage, Bill and Melinda Gates are getting a divorce. The Microsoft founder officially announced the news in a statement on social media, stating that while they will continue to work together on their philanthropic efforts, they "no longer believe [they] can grow together as a couple."

The two met while working at Microsoft and wed in 1994. Together they founded the Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation, along with the Giving Pledge, a mission to donate most of their wealth to various causes.
So far, the financial implications of their split aren't clear (hello, prenup?), but together the couple is estimated to be worth around $130 billion.
On the plus side, the world just gained one very eligible bachelor.
