Scotch In Dixie Cups? Diana Vreeland's Daily Work Lunch Spread Is Everything

by Guest of A Guest · November 29, 2022

“A little bad taste is like a nice splash of paprika. We all need a splash of bad taste—it’s hearty, it’s healthy, it’s physical. I think we could use more of it. No taste is what I’m against.”

Certainly, no one could accuse fashion icon Diana Vreeland of being a bore.

The former Vogue Editor In Chief did absolutely everything in her own wonderfully ridiculous, impressively specific way. Case in point? Her daily lunch spread, complete with diagram and all.

Though remembered best for her penchant for dramatic, over-the-top luxury, her office routine was hilariously no-nonsense and laughably particular.

Scotch in dixie cups. A packed glass cigarette case at the ready. A plastic container of yellow raisins. One of four William Poll sandwiches, never to be served on plates!

Girl sure did know what she wanted.
