Armie's Great-Grandfather, Armand Hammer

With his father in prison, 22-year old Armand (Armie's namesake) thought it would be best to leave his medical career behind and take over his father’s business, Allied Drug. According to Armand's biography, word got out among the higher-ups of the Soviet Union and he had the support of both Vladimir Lenin and Joseph Stalin behind him. Shortly after taking over, Armand moved to the Soviet Union, married, had a son named Julian, got divorced (twice), and, by the 1950s, moved to Los Angeles.

There, he married a wealthy woman and invested her money into Occidental Petroleum. With Armand at the helm, the failing company launched into success which would change his family's fortune - but ultimately lead to even more scandal.
