Ivy Getty Hit Fashion Week In The Most Iconic On-Screen Dress

by Stephanie Maida · September 15, 2022

As if Ivy Getty's going-out wardrobe couldn't get any more enviable, the socialite stepped out for New York Fashion Week in every 2000s teenager's dream movie dress: the slinky, sparkly rock 'n' roll number that appeared on-screen in 2003's Uptown Girls.

Donned, of course, by Brittany Murphy (whose character in the film was herself an erstwhile heiress with similar bohemian style to Ivy's), the dress is from Blumarine's Spring/Summer 2002 collection, embellished with colorful fans and florals.

From Vogue's block party-slash-runway to an after-bash at the Top of The Standard, Ivy hit the town in the famous frock and made such a splash on all of her friends' gushing Insta stories that she had no choice but to take to the 'gram herself to confirm that yes, she was wearing the Brittany Murphy dress from Uptown Girls. "Don't ask questions," she added.

While it's not clear whether she snagged the actual dress worn by Murphy on set, we do know that that one was last sold by Julien's Auctions in 2012 for $1,920.

In any case, there's no denying that Ivy's Uptown Girls moment totally won the night.
