Marci Klein's Sweet Sixteen At Studio 54 Was Chic As F*ck

I mean, what else would you have expected from the daughter of Calvin Klein?

These days, Marci Klein is best known for her behind the scenes work as a producer at Saturday Night Live. But back in the eighties? This New York City kid was the talk of the town for her over-the-top birthday bash.

Held at Studio 54, the end-all-be-all of historic NYC nightlife venues, Marci's Sweet Sixteen was the event of the year. Upon entering, guests were greeted by the dramatic scene of seven black tie dressed pianists playing seven white pianos - a clear sign straight from the start that money was no object.

The ballroom, covered in mirrors and streamers, played host to a seated dinner for the birthday girl and her Dalton classmates, and afterward a dance floor as the adult crowd made their entry, including celebrity friends of her designer father like Mick Jagger, Carly Simon and more.

Later in the evening, sixteen sparkler-topped cakes were marched into the room, while thirty or so dancing women descended a grand staircase. Some real MGM musical shit, no?

While not too much more than this has been reported (or photographed, for that matter) of the evening, you know there's loads still that must have gone on. And thanks to Mr. Studio 54 himself, Ian Schrager, we can finally grab a peek!

From the party invitations - a lucite box of 16 red candles printed with the details (you know Kim Kardashian's doing this for North) - to a montage of snaps from the soirée. I mean, how chic did this look!?
