As an avid art collector and staple on the city's cultural scene, Ray has lent his name (and cash) in support of Lincoln Center, the Whitney Museum, and the Studio Museum in Harlem, of which he's served as chairman. As far as politics go, he's written out checks to democratic candidates including Joe Biden, Kamala Harris, Kirsten Gillibrand, and Cory Booker.
