The latter has landed herself the main character of Hulu's new documentary Queenmaker: The Making Of An It Girl, now available for streaming. The albeit at times dramatic new film follows the early aughts height of camera curious girls splashed out on blog homepages.
While certainly lacking any new revelations as to this narrative of the It Girl craze that still continues to this day - the more things change, the more they stay the same - and certainly asking for its fair share of eye rolls along the way - I mean, "American Divinity," were they for real with that? - it is a fun enough watch.
Interviews with publicists (notably absent, Lizzie Grubman) and socialites (notably absent, the Hiltons and Lauren Santo Domingo and Fabiola Beracasa) and editors (notably absent, anyone on Gawker other than Emily Gould) punctuate blast from the past party b-roll and tales from pre-camera phone days at Bungalow 8.
It's all about being in the right dress at the right time at the right party... Right?
