Derek Blasberg

Speaking of strategic friendships, no one today seems to have garnered more selfies with famous people than the modern Capote himself, Derek Blasberg. Hailing from St. Louis, Blasberg moved to New York to study at NYU (where he once threw himself a black-tie party in the cafeteria of Hayden Hall, which, arguably, is the coolest dorm one could end up in, society-wise). He launched his journalism career at glossies like W and Vogue before earning various editor-at-large type positions, editing Mary-Kate and Ashley's book, Influence, and writing his own, Classy: Exceptional Advice for the Extremely Modern Lady. His own show on CNN followed and in 2018, he was named the head of fashion and beauty partnerships at YouTube. So, apparently he does actually work, but we still can't help but wonder, like Gwyneth Paltrow once did (before becoming besties with him), "[Is he] a professional best friend of celebrities?"
