Prince Jean-Christophe Napoleon Bonaparte's Heirloom Ring

The so-called French "Prince" Jean-Christophe, a descendant of Napoleon Bonaparte, happily wed his Austrian countess, Olympia von und zu Arco-Zinneberg in a lavish affair this past October. But not before experiencing some serious pre-marital stress. In April, Bonaparte's family heirloom ring, which he gave to his fiancée, was stolen out of the countess's bag - it had been sitting in an unlocked car in Paris. Estimated to be worth over one million bucks, the ring boasts a 40-carat diamond that had once sat in the crown of France's last empress. Remarkably, it was recovered just a few days later after the couple tracked the thief who had been dumb enough to use Olympia's credit cards. All's well that ends well.
