There Was Reportedly A "Billionaire Brawl" Ahead Of UNICEF's Gala In Capri

To paraphrase the immortal words of Beyoncé, of course sometimes shit goes down when it's a billion dollars on... the island of Capri.

Just ask real estate mogul M. Patrick Carroll.

The flashy businessman, who, in fact, happens to rub elbows with Bey's husband Jay-Z, was reportedly involved in a "billionaire brawl" at a swanky pre-party held ahead of UNICEF's star-studded gala in Capri.

According to Page Six, the Miami-based CEO was partying alongside A-listers like Leonardo DiCaprio and Jamie Foxx at a VIP bash hosted by Richie Akiva and Darren Dzienciol, but things turned sour when, as he reportedly put it, he started "flirting" with women at a neighboring table.

Carroll claims that this pissed off fellow billionaire Ernesto Bertarelli, a Swiss pharmaceutical scion, who allegedly got involved and sicced his posse on him. Drama!

But while sources say that Carroll did indeed make some sort of scene - and was subsequently escorted out of the soiree - some added that Bertarelli wasn't involved in the brouhaha at all.

"Ernesto was not involved in the [scene] despite other reports to the contrary and was nowhere near the situation," a rep for the event told Page Six.

Carroll's lawyer added, "What was meant to be a fun night out for all in Capri became unnecessary drama. Everyone has spoken and things are good now."

Well, all's well that ends well, especially if you've got enough funds to smooth things over.
