Quarantine Pen Pals

The Yumi Photo Challenge on Instagram was such a great way to stay in touch with others but it made my screen time sky rocket.

Pre-quarantine I was always concerned with achieving work-life balance, but now it was all about screen-life balance.

So much of my life took place online - consuming, creating and connecting.

I wanted to find a way to still feel the sense of community without having to be on my phone or computer.

This is how #QuarantinePenPals came about. It was an offline activity that could keep the community together and also helped support USPS by bringing back handwritten letters. Over the past three weeks, we've sent hundreds of pieces of snail mail through USPS.

Anyone who wanted to participate was assigned a penpal and then asked to keep the chain going by picking the next person to receive a card.
