Rising Star Chef of the Year: Jonah Miller of Huertas
Jonah Miller was born and bred in New York, spending summers since the age of fourteen working at some of Manhattan's best kitchens. While earning his B.S. in Food Studies and Restaurant Management at our own NYU, Miller spent a semester abroad in Spain, which forever changed the direction that his cooking would take. At Huertas, Chef Miller serves up Basque-inspired bites, which can either be enjoyed through the daily menu at the El Comedor Dining Room or as nibbles at the Pinxtos Bar. Fill your stomach with flavorful offerings such as mackerel with fennel and grapefruit, saffron fried rice, and the house's signature chorizo in the restaurant's exposed brick and lacquered wood interior. It'll prove difficult not to taste Miller's Spain-fueled passion for cuisine with every mouthful.
