Celebrity sushi hot spot Katsuya, which first stirred up major buzz in Los Angeles before expanding internationally to cities like Las Vegas, Miami, and Dubai, has just debuted its very first location in New York City. 

The upscale Japanese eatery is the new crown jewel at Citizens New York, the high-end culinary complex at Manhattan West. Designed by architect and designer David Rockwell and his renowned firm Rockwell Group, the super swanky space spans 7,000 square feet with a 305-seat dining room, adjoining 100-seat rooftop terrace, and two private dining spaces. 

Katsuya comes from sbe’s Disruptive Restaurant Group (DRG) and celebrated Master Sushi Chef Katsuya Uechi, whose inventive takes on sushi and other Japanese specialties have catapulted the restaurant to global fame. The NYC location will offer the chef's signature dishes including crispy rice, yellowtail sashimi with jalapeno, seared tuna with Japanese salsa, and albacore sashimi with crispy onion, as well as a lineup of dishes specific to New York like spiced beef toban, A5 Wagyu sukiyaki, Manhattan maki, and hiramasa wara yaki.

That isn't all. In addition to the sprawling restaurant, there's the adjoining S Bar, a stylish lounge under the Katsuya umbrella offering light bites and a cocktail menu designed by award-winning mixologist, Yael Vengroff.
