What Kind Of Safety Precautions Are Being Taken?

In addition to the mandate that all patrons wear masks whenever they're not sitting at their own table, the governor has provided a vague guideline for eateries that involves enhanced air filtration systems to keep the airflow fresh. Restaurants like L'Avenue at Saks have upgraded their interiors to include plexiglass dividers between tables while others, like the Michelin-starred Musket Room in Soho, are embracing more high-tech solutions, such as ultraviolet lamps designed to kill up to 99 percent of funguses, bacteria, and viruses in the air. Le Bernardin is now boasting a Needlepoint Bi-Polar Ionization system, which they say is “proven to eradicate 99.4% of airborne COVID-19 particles within 30 minutes.”

Finally, at FiDi's Brooklyn Chop House, a 40 point safety plan has been enacted, which includes a custom-made thermal temperature scanner, a UVC light at the entry of the restaurant to kill bacteria that might be on someone’s clothes, HVAC ultraviolet lights, and a UVC sanitizing station for cutlery and glassware in addition to a sanitizing station for patrons with masks, gloves and sanitizer.
