Fondue season is upon us!
This winter, there is simply no chicer après-shopping stop than The Mark Chalet, an Alpine escape sprung up on the corner of 77th and Madison Avenue. The wood-paneled, fur-draped, posh pop-up is serving a special menu of Swiss favorites dreamt up by Jean-Georges Vongerichten that are sure to warm you up.
Roasted Delicate Squash & Escarole Salad, Veal Zurichoise with spätzle, Slow Baked Arctic Char with crispy celeriac and potato rösti, horseradish and salmon roe. A fondue feast featuring a pot of melted gruyère and vacherin cheese with bündnerfleisch, sourdough bread, broccoli, potato, apple, pear and pickled cauliflower for stabbing and soaking.
And of course, to finish things off on a delightfully sweet note, they've a Mont Blanc cake that we'd definitely buy stock in.
Mulled wine, hot toddies - see you there?
