[Serendipity 3's $25K Sundae and Wall Street Burger Shoppe's $175 Burger]

After reading about Wall Street Burger Shoppe’s $175 hamburger, we were inspired to compile a list of this city’s most ridiculous plates. So, in no particular order, there they are. Feel free to add on!

Wall Street Burger Shoppe’s $175 burger. Kobe beef burger (percentage and authenticity of the Kobe beef unknown), seared foie gras, “exotic” mushrooms, shaved black truffle, and golden truffle mayo (includes gold flakes).

Norma’s $1000 “Zillion Dollar Lobster Fritatta.” Includes 10oz. of Sevruga caviar. Luckily, Norma’s dares you to expense it, so you can easily explain away that $1000+ breakfast.

Nino Selimaj’s $1000 pizza. Creme fraiche, chives, eight ounces of four different kinds of Petrossian caviar, four ounces of lobster tail, salmon roe, and wasabi.

The Westin Hotel Times Square’s $1000 bagel. White truffle cream cheese and goji berry infused Riesling jelly with golden leaves. This one wasn’t just for publicity – part of the proceeds went to the Les Amis d'Escoffier Scholarship for culinary arts students.

Algonquin Hotel’s $10,000 “Martini on the Rock.” Blue Bar will serve you up a cocktail including your choice of diamond. I know what you’re thinking and it’s too easy. The price varies with the value of the diamond.

Serendipity 3’s $1,000 “Golden Opulence Sundae.” We’re not sure what happened to the $25,000 sundae, but Serendipity 3 has apparently decided to slum it with a $1000 sundae. No idea what’s in this one, but we would guess that gold flakes make an appearance
