The Creator Of 'Downton Abbey' Is Making A Show About The Rothschilds

by Stephanie Maida · April 18, 2018

From their alleged Illuminati ties to their scandalous surrealist balls, The Rothschilds are one of the most infamous families in history - not to mention the richest. Their rise to the top (of a mountain of money) is surely full of secrets and drama, and Downton Abbey creator Julian Fellowes believes it's enough to turn into a TV show. Society gawkers, grab your popcorn.

According to Deadline, the show is currently in development and will be called Five Arrows. But don't expect to dive into the glamour just yet. During the 19th century, the dynasty went from rags to riches in just one generation during the Napoleonic Wars, and the series will aim to tell that fascinating story.

The well-heeled European editor-at-large for Vanity Fair, Jemima Khan, has reportedly come on as producer, so you know the show will be stylish, at least.

For now the news only indicates that it will be airing on British television, but if Downton Abbey could find a way into America's hearts (and screens), we're sure Five Arrows will make it here, too.

Wonder if Nicky Hilton Rothschild and her hubby will make a cameo...
